Meridian Mardi Gras is a long held event sponsored by Meridian Main Street which has grown and expanded over the years . It has been expanded to include: Live Music, Gumbo Cook-off, King Cake Sale, east Mississippi/west Alabama’s largest Mardi Gras Store; Krewe of Barkus Pet Parade; Krewe of Midas Parade and this year an expanded kid’s area. The 2014 Committee Chair Will Hayes, welcomes everyone to come out and join in the festivities. There’s no charge to attend and it’s a day of great activities for the entire family! Vendor and parade applications are online.

Take pride in keeping downtown clean and litter free. Join Meridian Main Street in these efforts by coming out, grabbing a pair of gloves and picking up litter in downtown. Clint Earnhart, the 2014 Committee Chair encourages everyone to be a part of the cleanup. All volunteers welcome! Co-sponsored by Keep Meridian/Lauderdale County Beautiful.

Singing Brakeman Park (April’s festival will be held on the lawn of City Hall. All other festivals will be at Singing Brakeman Park)
Join Meridian Main Street and the local area’s Farmer’s Market the first Saturday of April – November for a bountiful harvest of fresh produce, homemade goods, local honey, plants and much more! Kid’s activities and special demonstrations throughout the season. Maureen Lofton, the 2014 Committee Chair, anticipates eight fantastic festivals each unique with the season’s offerings. Mark your calendars now for the first Saturday of *April – November!
(*the April festival will be held on the lawn of City Hall in conjunction with the Threefoot Arts Festival. All other festivals May-November will be held at Singing Brakeman Park)
